Family Advocacy: Supporting Families Through Crisis

At our Children’s Advocacy Center, our Family Advocates are dedicated to guiding families through the complex systems they encounter when a child makes an outcry of abuse. Throughout the investigation, prosecution, and healing journey, our Family Advocacy team ensures families understand the process, know their rights, and access vital resources to support them during this challenging time.

A key component of our Advocacy Program is our specialized CSEC Advocate. This highly trained professional collaborates closely with the CACGA CSEC Response Team and community partners to address cases involving child survivors of human trafficking. By having a dedicated CSEC Advocate, we can provide immediate, expert care and the most up-to-date services to these survivors and their non-offending caregivers at the time of disclosure.

In addition to advocacy, families receive referrals to community resources, assistance with Crime Victims Compensation applications, and access to essentials such as clothing, food, toiletries, and financial support when needed. We also offer ongoing programs to help families thrive, including summer support groups, a back-to-school drive, Trunk or Treat events, and our beloved Christmas for the Kids drive.

Our Advocate Team is committed to meeting families where they are, providing compassion and care every step of the way. Together, we help families find strength and hope as they navigate the path toward healing.
