Our Family Advocates are committed to helping each family navigate through the system they enter when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution, and healing process, the CAC’s Family Advocacy team is there to help them understand the process, learn about their rights, and successfully navigate the resources that will help their family during the crisis.
A specialized part of our Advocate Team is our highly trained CSEC Advocate. We are honored to be able to work closely with the CACGA CSEC Response Team and our partners when a case involving human trafficking of a child survivor happens in our area. Having a specialized CSEC Advocate always us to provide the best and most up to date services to the CSEC survivors and their non-offending caregivers immediately at the time of disclosure.
Clients receive information and referrals to community resources and assistance completing applications for Crime Victims Compensation. Families have access to clothing, food, toiletries, and financial assistance on an as-needed basis through the CAC. They also receive ongoing support through summer groups, a back-to-school drive, trunk or treat, and our Christmas for the Kids drive. We believe in meeting the family where they are, and our Advocate Team is integral in making this happen.
