Non-offending caregivers play a critical role in their child’s healing and recovery from abuse. Caregivers often need support in overcoming psychosocial difficulties which can hinder their ability to be supportive and therapeutic to their children. This program has been designed to help caregivers obtain the support they need in overcoming such difficulties. During this program, caregivers will identify and work toward specific goals to improve their parenting skills. The overall goal is to strengthen the caregiver-child relationship and help the caregiver provide a safe and supportive environment for the child, which will enhance the child’s immediate and long-term adjustment to the abuse.
