Valdosta, GA – CJB Industries, Inc., Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. and District Attorney Bradfield M. Shealy present the 18th Annual Children’s Advocacy Center’s Sporting Clay Shoot on Saturday, February 25, 2017. The CAC’s largest fundraiser will take place at Southwind Clays & Quail Hunting Preserve. This annual event brings together supporters of the non-profit agency and highlights the community’s commitment to assisting the sexually and physically abused children of our area. Typically, 40 five-person teams compete in a clay shooting event featuring great prizes for winning teams and top individual shooters. Family and friends can spend a day of fun outdoors participating in teal and flurry events and enjoying breakfast and lunch.
Paige Dukes, Chairperson for the Children’s Advocacy Center’s Board of Directors said, “the CAC provides a service in our community, like no other. Accredited and autonomous, the Center strives daily to meet the needs of public safety while focusing on moving abused children and their families to a place of hope and healing. Proceeds from events like the clay shoot, guarantee these vital services continue. Aside from a fundraiser, this event is also a great opportunity to learn more about the CAC and other educational opportunities related to preventing child abuse.“
Sponsorship opportunities and team submissions are now available for businesses and individuals who are interested in supporting the CAC’s mission to prevent child abuse and minimize the trauma of child victims in Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Lanier and Lowndes counties. In 2016, the CAC provided services to 727 abused children, including more than 1,800 therapeutic sessions during this time.
